Benton Utilities continues to monitor our distribution system as a result of the work being performed to the bulk electric transmission grid. Our transmission provider has indicated a possible return-to-service for our Alcoa substation at approximately 19:00 this evening. If/when this goal is achieved, Benton Utilities will begin switching operations to return our distribution circuits to their normal loads.
We ask our customers to continue to conserve energy by raising your thermostats a few degrees, only perform laundry activities between 8p.m. and 6a.m., turn off unnecessary lighting, unplug unused electronics, and close your window coverings.
Your efforts are greatly appreciated and contribute greatly to protect our electric distribution system. There are no rolling blackouts scheduled at this time. Any outages incurred are temporary and will be restored as quickly as possible.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding. We will continue to provide updates at things develop. Be safe and stay cool.
