Benton Utilities wants to notify residents and businesses in our area of a scam going on. An unknown person is calling utility customers identifying themselves as your utility company stating you have a credit on your account and they need your bank card number or bank account number to transfer the funds to their bank account. The customer who notified us stated: the number this scammer used was 501-728-2046, and he could not speak English very well. This establishment is not in any way affiliated with the City of Benton nor Benton Utilities.
Benton Utilities recommends anyone receiving such a call to contact their utility company’s phone number listed on the bill with any questions regarding account issues. We do not call our customers to request this kind of information or for payments, we send servicemen to the location to disconnect or collect. Do not give account information or payment information to someone that contacts you via phone.

At Benton Utilities, our customers are our priority. We felt it imperative to notify each of you of this scam. This company is very smart in their scamming practices, and we do not want our customers to fall victim to their misleading practices.
