Home ›Promises to Pay (Extensions) will change in 2015
As a courtesy, Benton Utilities has given Promises to Pay to our customers for up to 7 days past the shut-off date if the total account balance is below $500. Unfortunately, the $500 limit is to high and causes losses each year which in turn causes rates for everyone to be affected. In an effort to continue to help our customers through occasional hard times and still be able to cut the losses, we are changing our policy on PTP's (Promises to Pay) beginning Jan. 1, 2015. In order to have a PTP granted, the customer's total balance (not just the past due portion) must not exceed the amount of deposit the customer has on their account. Example: If a customer's deposit is $150 but their total amount due is $151 or above, the customer will not be granted a PTP. If the deposit is $300 and the total amount due is $301 or more, the PTP cannot be granted. If you are note sure, if you have a deposit on your account or how much it is, call our office at 501-776-5923 Extension 125 or Extension 127 and we will be happy to give you that information.
