Home ›New Elevated Water Storage Tank nearing Completion
This past summer Benton Utilities awarded two contracts for the construction of a 12" water main and access road along with a 250,000 gallon elevated water storage tank located north of the Hurricane Lake Subdivision. Low bidder for the 12" water main and access road was H&H Excavation Inc. from Benton, Arkansas in the amount of $ 193,251.86. Low bidder for the elevated tank was Caldwell Tanks Inc. out of Louisville, Kentucky in the amount of $ 1,180,000.00.
Benton Utilities is pleased to announce the access road and water main project was completed last fall within budget, and the erection of the 250,000 gallon elevated water storage tank was also completed in late fall. Due to the cold temperatures, the painting of the tank had to be delayed until this spring. We are anticipating the painting, cleaning and final site work to be completed May 2015 at which time the tank will be put into service.
This elevated storage tank will not only provide additional water to customers with our service area but also aids in the much needed fire protection to western part of the City. With the addition of this new tank along with our 6 other elevated storage tanks, it will bring our total elevated storage capacity to 4,400,000 gallons of water.
